I guess it’s impossible to overestimate the truth of this statement. Compassion and love are the real essence of life and they are what makes living worthwhile. It should be our responsibility to make them the foundation – the roots of everything. All our actions should be built on them – not the other way round. The other way around would be to do something in the hope that we will get love and compassion as some kind of reward, or, even worse, that we substitute love and compassion with something else, such as work or similar things. Every minute in which we are not connected, in which we are not fully committed to what we are doing or to the person we are with, is a waste of time and therefore a waste of life.
